About Me
Ayşe Tülay was born in 1966 in Çorlu, her family is originally from Mut. Despite her interest in art from childhood, she pursued a degree in Business Administration and worked in the business world for a while. In her thirties, she completed her undergraduate studies in the Painting Department of Akdeniz University's Faculty of Fine Arts. During a period when her art studies continued intermittently, she completed her proficiency in art at Marmara University’s Institute of Fine Arts with a thesis titled "The Image of the Patriarchal Perpetrator in Contemporary Art."
The artist, who produces works at the intersection of personal and social boundaries, dealing with themes such as patriarchy, agency, and violence, uses mediums like collage, video, performance, and installation. She held solo exhibitions titled “Göğ” in 2024 and “olurolmazolmazolur” in 2015.
Since 2003, she has participated in project and group exhibitions in Antalya and Istanbul, as well as in Berlin, Kiel, Bad Elster, Sibiu, Brașov, Constanța, and Korea.
The artist currently lives in Çanakkale and continues her work in her studio there.
