Biography

Ayşe Tülay was born in Çorlu in 1966 and is originally from Mut. Although she was interested in art from her childhood, she has studied Business Administration; and continued professional business life for a while. She has completed her undergraduate studies at Akdeniz University Faculty of Fine Arts Painting Department in her thirties. During the period when her art studies continued intermittently, she has finished his Ph.D. in Art at Marmara University Fine Arts Institute with the thesis of “The Image of the Patriarchal Perpetrator in Contemporary Art”.

She organized group exhibitions like “Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Art” in Antalya; “Sultan and Raisins” in Germany, Romania and Turkey; “Studio Exhibition” and “From Here” with the Durum Art Group in Istanbul and took part in the exhibitions. In 2015, when she changed the course of her life by stepping out of her comfortable space, she opened her solo exhibition ” olurolmazolmazolur”, where she criticizes the rules that dominate her life. She has been participating in various exhibitions since 2003.

She still continues artworks in her studio in Bodrum and in her friends’ studios in Istanbul.
